21st Century Scholars

21st Century Scholars applications must be submitted no later than June 30th at the end of a student's 8th grade year. Students that have been accepted and are current scholars can track their progress and complete their required activities through ScholarTrack.

Lilly Endowment Scholarship

Eligible Students:
  • Must be a Greene County resident at time of application
  • Applicant must be a high school senior graduating by June 30, 2023
  • Applicant must have a high school diploma from an Indiana high school accredited by the State board of Education of by a national or regional accreditation agency that is recognized by the State Board of Education
  • Recipients must pursue undergraduate study in a baccalaureate program on a full-time basis
  • Recipients may attend any accredited public or private four-year college or university in Indiana

Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Inc. (IBCAT) is currently accepting applications for the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship of up $2,500 for college or post-secondary technical schooling is awarded to an Indiana. Tamara G. (Ingram) Cummings Memorial Scholarship

The Tamara G. (Ingram) Cummings Memorial Scholarship Award is named in honor of Tamara who was
an Eastern Greene 1981 Alumnus. Tamara went on to Vincennes University later in life and earned her
medical coding certificate. Knowing how important the future of our youth was to Tamara, the Ingram
family would like to honor her by helping a student excel in his/her education.

EGHS Scholarship committee is currently accepting applications for The Tamara G. (Ingram) Cummings
Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship of $1,000 for college or post-secondary technical schooling is
awarded to an Eastern Greene High School Senior pursuing a career in the fields of healthcare.
Application guidelines and instructions are included in this announcement.

Richard Fennessey Memorial Scholarship

The Richard Fennessey Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior from Eastern Greene High School that is pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). This award is in honor of Richard Lee Fennessey II, an Eastern Greene Alumni Class of 1980. Richard later went on to Purdue University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Knowing how important education was to Mr. Fennessey, the family would like to honor Richard by helping another student follow in his footsteps.

Kyle L. Harrop Memorial Scholarship

Kyle L. Harrop was the Indiana Association of School Principals Department of Student
Programs Director from August, 2000 to September, 2018, when he passed away unexpectedly.
Mr. Harrop’s passion for student success was unrivaled, and during his tenure as Student
Programs Director, academic competitions participation grew tremendously. Mr. Harrop was
truly the face, voice and spirit of IASP academic competitions.
To honor Mr. Harrop’s passion for student success, and create a legacy in his honor to continue
that support, the Kyle L. Harrop Scholarship was created. To apply for the scholarship ($500 for
two successive school years), please see the criteria below, complete the attached application,
and submit with the necessary documents as a.pdf file to kharropscholarship@gmail.com no later
than March 15, 2023. Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship,
although it is not the main criteria.

Society of Plastics Engineers/Joseph B. Williams Memorial Scholarship

The Central Indiana Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) is sponsoring our 8th Annual scholarship open to all Indiana graduating high school seniors that plan to pursue a career related to the plastics industry.  The “Joseph B. Williams Memorial Scholarship” eligibility is for students planning to attend a four (4) year degrees program.  The “Central Indiana Section Scholarship” eligibility is for students planning to attend a two (2) year degree program.  The detailed requirements and applications are attached for both scholarships.

Judith K. Bobe Scholarship 

Eligibility for Scholarships: The applicant must have been enrolled in the Head Start Program in the
Indiana Counties of Daviess, Greene, Knox, or Sullivan.
Applications will be accepted from graduating high school seniors. The individual must be accepted
into an accredited college or university, community college or recognized technical/trade school at the
time the award is issued. Graduate students are not eligible. Applicants should have a minimum
accumulated 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the end of the fall semester of the senior year.

Worthington-Jefferson Scholarship

The Worthington-Jefferson Alumni Association Scholarship is awarded to any qualifying student that is a direct descendent of a WJHS alumni. That requirement is outlined as a child/grandchild/great-grandchild of an alum. The student must also be a Greene County school graduating senior in May 2023 and willing to attend the WJHS Alumni Banquet for formal presentation on June 10, 2023.

Ryan Wilcoxen Memorial Scholarship

The Ryan Wilcoxen Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Ryan Wilcoxen, a beloved 2008 Eastern Greene High School alumni. Ryan was a standout athlete at Eastern, leading the baseball program to its only semi-state appearance in school history. Ryan continued to play baseball at Franklin College, while earning a degree in physical education and health. Ryan spent his career teaching and coaching students in numerous districts in central Indiana, but found his home at Owen Valley High School. Ryan led a life of continual impact on those around him, making it only suiting that his family honor him by awarding a graduating senior who will also lead a life of impact. The Ryan Wilcoxen Memorial Scholarship committee is currently accepting applications. The scholarships of $2,000 for college or post-secondary technical schooling are awarded to one Eastern Greene High School senior athlete and one Owen Valley High School senior athlete. ROTC Scholarship

Army ROTC offers 2,3- and 4-year scholarships that cover either full tuition and fees, or up to $5,000 in housing. Students also receive a $420 a month stipend and $600 a semester for books. Students can apply after their junior year of high school. The scholarship application can be found at the link below.  After completion of the program students have an 8-year commitment. This commitment can either be 4 years Active Duty and then 4 years Independent Ready Reserve (IRR), or 6 years in the Army Reserves/National Guard and 2 Years IRR. If students receive a 4-year National Scholarship and decide that the Army is not for them they can walk away after their first year without paying back the money. Students who receive a 3-year scholarship have two years to make this decision. 

The basic requirements to apply are:
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be at least 17, and under 31 in the year of commissioning.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50, unweighted.
  • Have taken the SAT or ACT.
  • Take the current Army Physical Fitness Test.
  • Meet physical weight and height requirements.
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.

AOC Crane Roost Scholarship

The AOC advocates the need for a strong defense capability emphasizing Electronic Warfare (EW) and information operations to government, industry, academia, and the public. In addition, the AOC provides a forum for sharing ideas and experiences through communication, education and leadership. AOC advocates a strong EW defense capability by providing education assistance to under graduate and graduate college students who wish to work in or are currently working in the EW field.
 
The 2023 Association of Old Crows (AOC) Scholarship committee has scholarships available for the 2023-2024 academic year. There will be two levels of scholarships, one $3,000 scholarship for a student in their third academic year or beyond of a college/university, and a $1,000 scholarship for a student graduating from high school and entering their first year of college.  In both cases, scholarships will be awarded to students seeking careers in the Electronic Warfare field through studies in science, technology, engineering and math.

American Public Works Association

The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who would pursue a degree program in a public works related field.  Such fields would include Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Municipal Planning, Public Administration Public Works/Municipal Operations and Fleet management among others.  The degree may be through a university or technical school course of study.  The scholarship awards $1000.00 annually for 4 years provided that the student demonstrates continued progress toward a public works field degree.  A paid annual membership to the American Public Works Association is included in the award.  Interested high school seniors should complete the attached application.  For additional information please go to our website at http://indiana.apwa.net/PageDetails/25193.  An Application is attached for your convenience as well.

Indiana Oil & Gas Association Scholarship

The requirements for the scholarship are:
1. Be a resident of Indiana and attending any accredited college; or be a non-Indiana resident attending an
Indiana accredited college.
2. Be a graduating high school senior; or a HS Transcript showing completion through home schooling;
or currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program
3. Be attending college in the coming fall.
4. Plan to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry.
5. Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
6. Be pursuing a bachelor's degree, with preference given for Earth Sciences, Petroleum Engineering,
Chemical Engineering or Geology majors.
7. Have a financial need determined by the scholarship committee.
8. Submit a short essay which describes the applicant’s interest in the oil and gas industry and which career
path the applicant is planning to pursue

​Erin's Purpose Scholarships

Erin's Purpose has 5 scholarships available!  
(3) $1000.00 to go toward college (Ivy Tech, VU, IU, etc...)
(2) $500.00 to go toward someone entering a trade (Pipefitters, Beauty school, Electrical, Mechanics, etc)

We have opened this up county wide so the top 3 College applicants will be picked and the top 2 Trades applicants will be picked. 

There is no application. We require a letter detailing what their chosen path will be, why they chose that path and how this scholarship will help them. Letters need to be emailed in pdf form attachment to Emma.Floyd@erinspurpose.org.
